The soft neutral tones in our design have a dual purpose – to create a haven of peace, warmth and safety into what is a tumultuous time for families and secondly, to allow the dramatic heritage features of this breathtaking building to be the visual centre piece of the fitout.
Each of the newly refreshed bedrooms includes new ensuite bathrooms, play areas for children, a fully operational shared kitchen & dining space, offices & counselling rooms and importantly, dedicated spaces for the Ronald McDonald House Learning programme that assists children to catch up on missed education following treatment and recovery.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provides safe and reliable accommodation allowing seriously ill children to have their families close by in a home-away-from-home while they are undergoing treatment and recovery.
Generously donated by the Vaccari family trust, Casa Elda Vaccari was constructed in 1915 and was originally an Electric Railway Substation. Partnering with Capabuild under a Design & Construct delivery, together we transformed the heritage building into a purpose-built accommodation facility ‘Ronald McDonald House’ for 25 families a night.
